Claudia
Dental Hygienist
Certain experiences mold us as children. For Claudia Abraham, one such experience was being a patient of an excellent pediatric dentist in her homeland of Brazil. At just seven years old, she had already started to gravitate towards the dentistry field. After migrating to the US in 1993, Claudia focused her attention on attaining her dream of working in the dental field. In 2004, she graduated valedictorian in Dental Hygiene from Allegany College of Maryland.
May 2023 will mark nine incredible years since Claudia joined the Quince Orchard Dental Care family. She is very proud to have been part of the practice’s development and expansion over the years. She describes each day as having its own rewards and trials which she finds gratifying. As a dental hygienist, Claudia is usually one of the first persons the patients have any interaction with. She enjoys assessing the unique dental needs of each and every patient, which allows for the dentist to develop a custom treatment plan. Claudia’s professional goal is to see her patients achieve maximum overall health which she believes begins with quality dental care.
Working at Quince Orchard Dental Care has been a great experience as Claudia describes our team here as “an excellent group of people who’re all dedicated to the well being of patients whilst trying to anticipate their needs and fulfilling them”. She lauded Dr. Rouhanian for providing a comfortable and welcoming environment not only for the patients but the staff as well. Claudia and the others are elated to be part of a dental practice that treats staff and patients with equal importance.
An interesting fact about Claudia is that she has always been one to work hard and play harder! In her leisure time she likes to do gardening, hiking and spending time with family. She also has a feeling of wanderlust as travelling and going on great adventures is a favorite pastime of hers. She enjoys exploring the Caribbean on cruises and travelling to various states in the US. Next stop, Italy! It has always been her dream to travel there and practically everyone knows it.
One of her most memorable experiences whilst travelling was being able to hold an African green, or “vervet” monkey (as pictured) in the twin-island nation of St Kitts and Nevis.

Claudia has great admiration for her mother Maria do Monte, who made countless sacrifices for her and her brother. Her mother taught her to always keep moving forward and do the best she can. Claudia has certainly been doing the best she can as she strives to be honest, humble, a good friend, a wonderful listener and a dedicated dental professional. These are traits she admires in other people and staying true to them provides an excellent compass for both her professional and personal life. If you’ve ever interacted with Claudia then you already know what has been written here. We’re elated to have Claudia as an integral member of our Quince Orchard Dental Care family and encourage you to say hello next time you are in!

Nasim
Dental Hygienist
Dental Hygienist, Nasim Tehrani, has been a valuable member of the Quince Orchard Dental Care family since 2015. After completing her high school education in Iran, she migrated to the United States where she continued her studies at Howard University in Washington D.C. and attained her certification in Dental Hygiene. Nasim has a passion for helping others and ensuring that her patients have a great experience during their visit and feel comfortable during the process.
The drive to see patients happy and the need to reinforce the best dental hygiene practices serve as daily motivation for her. She values her interaction with all our patients and looks to always share knowledge that allows for healthy dental habits. She is most proud of her positive effect on the lives of her patients and the understanding and knowledge they acquire when it comes to dental care and hygiene. One truly unique thing about Nasim is how she views the process of learning and knowledge sharing as a reciprocal one in that she loves hearing about the lives and experiences of our patients as well.
When she is not busy providing excellent patient care at the office, Nasim also enjoys listening to music and traveling to new places. She is quick to encourage others to experience new things and keep expanding their interests. Her main influences are her mother and her husband who she credits for their support. She also places great value on her spirituality and principles of honesty, and loyalty. With an easy going attitude, she is adept at making her patients and coworkers feel comfortable. Dr. Rouhanian noted that in addition to many exemplary character traits, “her abilities to embrace teamwork and to assume responsibility makes Nasim a crucial member of the Quince Orchard Dental Care team”. She aspires to continue in her efforts to make a difference in the lives of our patients. We’re elated to have Nasim Tehrani as an integral member of our Quince Orchard Dental Care family and encourage you to say hello to her the next time you are in for a visit.

Jessica Kimmel
Dental Hygienist
On July 31st, 2019, Quince Orchard Dental Care warmly welcomed Jessica Kimmel to our team. As one of our newest Pediatric Dental Hygienists, Jessica has certainly added a new spark of energy and light to our practice. She graduated with her first Bachelor’s Degree in General Science from Pittsburg State University in Kansas City. She then moved to Maryland with her husband to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Baltimore County. She spent 5 years teaching and although it was a great experience, she decided that teaching was not for her and she returned to the science field. She went on to attain an Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene from Allegany College of Maryland. Jessica is certain that she is now where she truly belongs!
Jessica became a new mom in April, 2019 (many congratulations to her!) and after returning from maternity leave, she applied to our practice. She had a great interview and now that she has officially joined us, the rapport with the rest of our team and our patients is amazing! Jessica noted that it was the values that Quince Orchard Dental Care holds that drew her to the practice. For us, it is never about the numbers and the dollar value but rather, the high level of quality service we aim to produce each time, even if that means spending a few extra minutes with a patient. Jessica had her mind made up after seeing how well our patients are treated.
Her professional life does look very promising as both herself and Kayla Sisti (the other new Dental Hygienist) both bring enthusiasm and compassion to their work here. With their help, Dr. Lewis and Dr. Abdillahi would be able to focus a bit more on the restoration side of things and the flow has certainly been much smoother. Speaking of positive change, Jessica fondly recalls a patient interaction which she is most proud of that has always stuck with her. She had a patient who had not been to the dentist in 20 plus years because of his fear of the dentist. This led to his dental health severely declining. When he finally visited, she was able to calm him down enough to perform the procedures required. After that visit, his view of the dentist changed and he felt comfortable enough to keep his future appointments. She noted that sometimes all it takes is a gentle touch and kind words to change someone’s mind.
This caring, energetic and outgoing professional was moulded by the support of her loving parents. They were always there for her especially through her years of studying. The support of her parents is a trait that she would like to emulate to her 3 months old daughter, Kinley and her husband Joe, as she believes in valuing family. This little family along with their two dogs, loves the water as they enjoy spending time on the Potomac River and going to the beach. At winter time you can often catch her skiing. One of the surprising things about Jessica is that she is originally from Kansas and when she tells people that, she is usually bombarded with questions about the midwest. A popular question asked is if she has ever seen a tornado. The answer to that question is yes, she’s seen quite a few!
Her days at the office are often quite exciting as witnessing a tornado. She loves interacting with her patients as no day is the same. Her little patients make her days very interesting and at the end of the day, her main goal is to make them not afraid to come into the office. Jessica and the rest of our team would love to make your child’s dental visit a positive one! Schedule an appointment with us here to make going to the dentist fun again!
