Meet Our New, Sporty Dental Hygienist - Danielle Summerour
A career in dentistry isn’t really what Danielle imagined she’d be doing but, after taking a job as a front desk assistant, she fell in love with the industry. She has worked as a licensed and registered dental hygienist for about four years now, but before that, she worked at the front desk for about three years. Almost 10 years ago, not long after leaving high school, she was working at a nail salon when one of her customers randomly approached her and said that she liked her attitude and friendly personality and offered her a job. Danielle later found out that she was a dentist, and the rest, as they say, is history.
At that job, Danielle became very interested in the field and began asking to be trained in new things. She eventually went on to pursue an accelerated dental hygienist program at Fortis College. Having worked as a dental hygienist for the past four years, Danielle says some of the things she loves the most about this job include getting to meet and interact with new people and educating them about their overall health.
When asked about the people who have impacted her life, Danielle said her parents and her closest friends. Growing up, her mother was a stay-at-home mom who was very hands-on and active in the lives of Danielle and her two sisters. Her father was a very hard-worker and that instilled a strong sense of work ethic in her. Danielle has always strived to be someone her younger sister can look up to and emulate.
Since she was a child, Danielle has enjoyed sports and being active. She was also a dancer for many years and played a few different sports. She spends a lot of her free time outdoors, participating in activities like hiking, fishing, and most recently, golfing! She has a 3-year old puppy that often gets her outside. She is very close with her family, both emotionally and physically so she spends a lot of time with them. They often travel and do a lot of different activities together and they spend most holidays together.
Danielle is a perfect fit for QODC, and she admits that she has quickly fallen in love with the family vibe here at our practice. Honesty, compassion, faith, and kindness are important traits to her, and she brings these characteristics to the job every day and every patient interaction. Whenever you are visiting our office, be sure to say ‘hi’ to Danielle. She and the rest of our team would be delighted to assist you in any way that they can.
