Getting To Know Maritza Mendez

The Quince Orchard Dental family is made up of medical professionals who emulate passion for their job and amazing work ethic. Maritza Mendez is no different. This cheerful and reliable dental professional has been part of our team as our Pediatric Treatment Coordinator for three years and comes with over seven years in the dental field. A proud graduate of Montgomery Blair High School, Maritza went on to further her studies by attaining a certificate as a medical assistant in 2008. In 2011 she decided to try something different and pursued a career in the dental field and loved it. Now she is doing what she loves! She is inspired by the way people’s smiles change whether with braces, dentures, or crowns. Just seeing how satisfied patients leave the office and how our office was able to accomplish it has been the highlight of most of her days here.
Her bubbly personality mixes well with the requirements of her job. As our Pediatric Treatment Coordinator, it is important to her to have a good rapport with our youngest patients. Maritza is responsible for scheduling all children’s appointments and making sure her doctor’s schedule runs smoothly. She also presents treatment plans and verifies insurance for her pediatric dentist. When asked what she loved most about working in the dentistry field, she said “I am able to see a patient come in with a chipped tooth and the doctor is able to restore it and to see the patient leave satisfied. I love seeing a happy patient!”
For those who have interacted with Maritza knows that being bi-lingual is a huge asset for our practice. She is able to assist Spanish-speaking families with setting up an appointment and addressing any questions or concerns they may have. She also does her best in spreading the word of us being a Spanish- speaking practice. Maritza thoroughly enjoys her job and one thing she loves the most about our practice is how patient-centric it is. According to her, “QODC is different from other practices because they go above and beyond to keep our patients satisfied and they also treat their employees as family. We are a team, a team I am glad to be in!”
On the personal side of things, Maritza loves going to the gym, spending time with her family and if summer was all year round she would be at the beach every weekend! Over the years, she has grown both personally and professionally. She credits her mother for molding her to become the person she is today. Her mother was a single parent of four children with two jobs and she taught her children to never give up and that they can accomplish anything as long as they put the effort in. Honesty is also another trait that is extremely important to Maritza. She makes it her duty to live her life with integrity and kindness. Whenever you are visiting our office, be sure to say ‘hello’ or ‘hola’ to Maritza. She and the rest of our team would be delighted to assist you in any way that they can.
